Nothing you say will help your case and you'll end up wasting your time and still having the same options - probably safety course, deferred adjudication, or fine (depending on how many other offenses you've had in the last year in that jurisdiction) as well as court costs *at least that's how it works in Texas).
If it's 1st or a single offense in a while, you can handle it by just doing the necessary (call court, pay costs, do what you need to do). Otherwise, pay a traffic attorney to handle it. You'll save time, money and headaches.
