I need some book suggestions!?

I love to read but i've been finding it really hard lately to find something I can really get in to. My favorite books are:

*"The Perks of Being A Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky

*"Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger

*ANYTHING written by James Patterson

*"Water For Elephants" by Sarah Gruen

*"Diary" and "Haunted" by Chuck Palaniuk....

etc........ please give suggestions based on the books i mentioned. I dont like books about vampires, i dont like books about history, i dont really like love stories either... any ideas? i do like books with a little mystery behind them, or books that make me think like "the perks of being a wallflower"... any ideas?

know you said no vampire books...but I think Twilight is great! It's a good book and it's in a humans point of view, not a vampires! It's also a movie. There's: Twilight; New Moon; Eclipse; and Breaking Dawn... Though Breaking Dawn is not out in the cinema's yet... If not Twilight, then how about some Jaqueline Wilson books? They're awesome!!! And really funny. Hope I helped(:

You should try reading Salinger's "Nine Stories." My favorite one is "Just Before the War with the Eskimoes," but all of the stories are wonderful.

If you like Salinger, you might also enjoy Ring Lardner's short stories. I think Holden Caulfield actually mentioned that Lardner was his favorite author.

I also loved Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. It's satirical, but also very tragic and absurd. It's also an American "classic" and definitely worth reading.

Chuck Palaniuk isn't one of my favorite authors, but his book Fight Club is a wonderful read. It's mysterious and thought-provoking (a lot of great philosophy) despite its sometimes gratuitous violence.

"The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka - anything and everything by Kafka is good, actually...

If you haven't already, pick up a Salinger short story anthology - I especially love his story, "The Perfect Day for Banana Fish" and "To Esme: With Love and Squalor".
