What does the number mean on bearing for skateboard. i e ABEC 5?

The ABEC scale is a system for rating the manufacturing tolerances of precision bearings.
Tolerance is the amount of variation from an absolute exact measurement that is permitted during the manufacturing process.
Does abec 7 go faster than abec 5 no.. unless you are going 300mph then tolerance and speed dont really do anything.

Not much. They measure the precision for high speed machinery, but don't make a difference unless you get up into 300 mph.Source(s): experience
