Also, as of tonight the Sox have only 35 losses. That's one less loss than the Red Sox, and only one loss more than the Angels and Scrubs. Tampa Bay with 32 losses is the only team you can say is doing that much better.
But, remember that even though the Sox lost 3 of 4 from the Rays in June at Tampa, the scores of those losses were 2-0, 2-1 and 4-3. So, it's hard to say that Tampa Bay is clearly the better team.
Too many people focus on wins when they try to compare the win/loss records of teams. The number of losses are the thing to look at and right now the Sox are doing quite well in that category when compared to other teams.
