If you will not put her to sleep, then find a rescue or refuge that will take her. But keep in mind, a lot of bad things can happen to a dog like that nonetheless, and the only sure way you can keep her from ever suffering is to humanely put her down. If you do not believe me, reread Black Beauty.
In the meantime, you are taking a terrible risk on your and your children's future. Things happen that we don't hav control over - someone can not close the door all the way, a child can open it accidentally, anything - as long as you have that dog around, someone be attacked in your home - and they would sue, make no mistake about it.
If someone is injured in your home, they can sue for loss of use of a body part, or the ability to work, and can garnish your future wages - they can take money you don't even have yet. That affects not only your present situation, but your children's future as well.
Children have friends, and likely so do you - and they are all in danger as long as that dog exists.
Putting her down would really be the best thing all around - as tragic as it would be. It is the only way you have absolute control over her not being tortured or fought, and preventing anyone from being hurt and suing you for everything you not only own now but would ever own...
It's wrenching, but I think you know the answer. Take her for her Best Day, get her a Big Mac, play her favorite games, and take her to the vet. She'll never know, and you will be absolutely sure she is safe with God, and not being hurt. It's really for the best.
