    Yes it is real!

    Verse from the Bible: (NIV)

Matthew 13:42: "And shall cast them (sinners) into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

James 3:6: "The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell."

Mark 9:43-48: And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched."

Luke 16:24: "And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame." This is a plea described as coming from an inhabitant of Hell.

Revelation 20:13-15: "...hell delivered up the dead which were in them...And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving ... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone."

Mark 9:44-48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. This means that even though your body is burning the worm (which is your body will never die) and you will burn forever.

Revelation 14:11: "And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

These desciptions should tell us that we do not want to go to hell.

If John 3:16 (NIV) says "for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life," then what does it mean that unbelievers will perish? If they, as some propose, burn in eternal fire, is that really perishing?

Also, Matthew 10:28 (NIV) says "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." If an unbeliever is destroyed in hell, how can they be tormented forever?

Hell is real, but not as you would think. It is the common grave of mankind, not a fiery, burning place!

What happens to the spirit when a person dies? Psalm 146:4 says: "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish." When a person dies, his impersonal spirit does not go on existing in another realm as a spirit creature. It "returns to the true God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7) This means that any hope of future life for that person now rests entirely with God.

...the dead have no conscious existence, hell cannot be a fiery place of torment where the wicked suffer after death. What, then, is hell? Examining what happened to Jesus after he died helps to answer that question. The Bible writer Luke recounts: "Neither was [Jesus] forsaken in Hades [hell, King James Version] nor did his flesh see corruption."* (Acts 2:31) Where was the hell to which even Jesus went?

Jesus was in hell, the grave, but he was not abandoned there, for he was raised up, or resurrected.

That means that GOD is NOT in cahoots with Satan... he is a righteous God, not one to send humans to burn forever, as some religions would have you believe!!!

Wow people who quote the Bible to answer whether hell is real or not need to wake up.. Quoting the Bible doesn't prove anything. No body actually knows if Hell is a real place or not. NO one living knows this sorry.. Just because it's in a book doesn't make it real.

in my opinion and from my beliefs, yes it is.

NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES (NDE): Dr. Maurice Rawlings, a specialist in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, wrote a book in 1979 in which he recorded the NDE memories of some of his patients. These are individuals who have suffered a clinical death (generally, their heart stopped and breathing ceased). But before real or biological death happened, as their brain cells were being starved of oxygen, they went through a very special experience. When they were returned to life, most remembered passing through a long luminous tunnel, feeling at peace, sensing love, being welcomed, and talking to God or to long-dead family members. But others recalled a deeply disturbing experience. They felt that they were being drawn down into Hell. They remembered heat, flames, screams of the inhabitants, etc. Dr. Rawlings wrote that, according to his patients, "...this place seems to be underground or within the earth in some way." 5 Many skeptics suggest that NDEs are simply hallucinations caused by the person's brain cells being starved of oxygen and their brain gradually shutting down. Those who expect to go to heaven after death would probably have a positive experience. The small minority who believes that they are destined for Hell would likely have their hallucinations also match their expectations.

  • "Hell isn’t a place. This life is hell."

Skeptics who say this are trying to dismiss the reality of hell. They might like to think that life as we know it couldn’t get any worse, but the sufferings in this life will be heaven compared to the suffering in the next life—for those who die in their sins. This life is the closest thing to hell that Christians will ever know, and the closest thing to heaven that sinners will ever know. For a biblical description of hell, see Revelation 1:18
