    There's no income threshold. You're either "carrying on an enterprise" or you're not:

    In other words, if you're doing something which involves business like activity with the intention of making a profit, however small, then you are carrying on a business for tax purposes (or "enterprise" for ABN purposes):

    You're not required to register your ABN for GST if your current or projected annual turnover is $75,000 or more. You can have an ABN without being registered for GST. Call the ATO or speak with an accountant for more advice if you're still not sure.
