Yes I can believe it. I have noticed that several people have mentioned the millions of acres they currently have but are not drilling. Have these smart, intelligent people thought that there may not be any oil under that acerage? Also, did they know that the total amount of acerage leased to oil companies accounts for less than 1% of all possible federal land that could be leased? That probably goes right by them. Instead of trying to come up with a solution, they just want to tax the oil companies, not realizing in their infinite wisdom that the cost will be passed right back to the consumer. Better yet, several esteemed members of Congress have said they want to socialize the oil companies. There is a great idea, I would just that these wise folks read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" then tell me what they think.
