How long are "911 calls" transcripts maintained and are they "public record"?

    This is state and agency specific as far as how long they are kept. Can be as short as 6 months or as long as several years.

    They are not public record. You would have to file a freedom of information act, and unless the reason for the request is for legitimate purposes, the request can be denied for several reasons.

    no longer public record. ususally are recorded on cd and archived. it extremely relies upon on the employer coverage. verify with the director on your section to be sure how they're archived.
