Industrial Engineering and Social Science?

I am about to complete a BA (psychology, philosophy, criminology), and would like to move to engineering. Naturally, industrial engineering seems to be the most related, but I'm also interested in Mech/Aero Engineering. Any advice? Would companies hiring an engineer even care if the candidate had a BA (or hons or masters of philosophy)?

Companies look for Engineering degrees in general (depending on the work you want to do). Engineering majors are taught how to think a certain way and companies look for it. Try looking at job postings for Engineers and you'll see that many companies as for an Engineering degree, not anything specific.
