  • 1. New York Yankees-Have won 26 world championships and have had numerous hall of famers.

    2.St.Louis Cardinals- Won 10 world series titles, beat the redsox twice in 21 years,led by Albert Pujols who gave the Cards their first title in almost 25 years in '06.

    3.Los Angeles Dodgers- Played in Brooklyn for over 70 years until moving to L.A, one of the first teams to break the color barrier with Jackie Robinson and 6 world series titles which included kirk Gibson's walk off shot.

    4.Boston Redsox- Won 5 WS in 15 years from 1903-1918 until the sale of Babe Ruth, which in the time of 86 years went to play 4 world series which included Buckner's error.In 2004 and '07 shut out the Cards and the Rockies.

    5. Cincinnati Reds-One of the oldest franchises was known as the big red machine in the 1970's with Pete Rose all time hits leader and Johnny Bench.The machine won 2 out of their five WS victories.

    6.Oakland Athletics- Had two dynasties in the early half of the 20th century and 70's but trying to find another WS title since 1989.

    7.Pittsburgh Pirates-Had a great run in the 70's with Roberto Clemente at the helm,but hasn't lived up to that ever since.

    8. San Francisco Giants-While being the New York they won the majority of their championships including the "shot heard around the world" in '51.Won a championship with HR leader Bonds in 2001.

    9.Detroit Tigers-Ty Cobb in the early years of the team is known as one of the best ever. Their 4 championships are separated in 4 different decades.Lost to the Cardinals in 2006.

    10.Minnesota Twins- Known as the Senators of Washington until 1962,they won two titles in Washington and one in Minnesota but have been roller coaster like ever since.
