What is the Definition of Means v. Ends?
- happygreeneyesLv 41 decade agoFavorite Answer
It basically means that when you're trying to achieve some sort of goal, you need to decide which is more important:
To make sure that the way you go about achieving the goal (the means) is the most honest and least hurtful way possible?
To achieve that goal (the ends), no matter whom you might hurt along the way or what dirty tricks you might have to employ to get there?
Basically, what's more important: how you achieve a goal, or just getting to the goal, no matter what?
I hope that clears things up! :-)

Losing or Letting go of Our Viscous / Venomous Ego is LOVE Once we have no sense of self. No image of our self, then all things and all beings are equal in the eyes of one who has no ego. Then he/she begins to accept everything coming in his/her life with equanimity of mind Love can be Transaction and Love can be Transformational. Your definition is transactional. "Ab mera kya hoga?" - What will happen to me if some one stops loving me. But the real purpose of Love here is Transformational. Even if no one loves you, you are still happy within, because your happiness doesn't lie in the outside world. Your happiness lies within you and you want to share the out pouring of happiness within you to others, even though you have been hurt by others in your life. You never keep grudge against the person who has hurt you the most. You realize that the person is helplessly doing God's will, because God is trying to tell you to Let go Of your Venomous Ego (the sense of self-identity) so you can know the truth that all beings are part of God, they are within Him and they are His. Then we can become an empty like a flute so the Lord can play whatever music He wishes to play through us.
