From the Acer Forum:
"This can be initiated by pressing ALT + F10 when the computer is first switched on. You will need to hold down ALT as soon as the Acer splash screen appears, and repeatedly press F10. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts. The Disk2Disk recovery feature allows you to recover the system without recovery CDs. This will return your system to factory settings and will delete everything stored on the machine. If possible we strongly advise backing up anything important on your machine before starting the recovery process."

I did the same thing, I downgraded my acer from vista to xp. Get some good partitioning tools e.g. partition magic. It will detect all partition even this hidden one. Format everything in ntfs. After that get all drivers XP from official acer web site. Should find there network adapter drivers and all other, which are missing. When you want to back to vista. You have to get vista disc, and install one more time OS. After what you did any recovery options dont work. I would stay with xp, anyway...

Hello, You can either call the company who makes you're computer model and order one of course that will cost probably around 100$ or you can go to one of you're local computer stores and ask for one it may not be as much or you can ask the computer store to burn a cd with vista on it with drives
not sure if it's the same way as xp or not but it's worth a try.

Check to see if there's recovery software installed on the PC. If not, when booting, it should tell you a key to hit for System Recovery (ie. F11). Go in here and do a destructive recovery, restoring your laptop to factory specification.

okay reboot the computer
--when you get to the "press an F key to go to settings" do that
--then pick to restart the computer from FACTORY SETTINGS!
-- then wait for it and it will start back like new
((and it wont delete your documents and stuff either ;D))

type Acer eRecovery in the Start menu and it should appear there. Then go from there.
