hi, i need to know something. what was the "hoover blanket" also known as during the great depression?

Newspapers. because President Hoover was blamed for the Depression and also for not doing anything about it his
name was attached to a few things. People living on the
streets as they had no job and no money would cover themselves with newspapers for warmth and they were known as Hoover blankets. People gathered together in
parks etc and built shelters out of old cardboard boxes and
spare bits of wood. These were known as Hoovervilles. In
Canada our Prime Minister was R. B. Bennett. People could not afford gas to they hitched up their horses to pull their
cars. These were known as Bennett buggies.
