This is a list of countries which have a majority of Muslim people using data from the CIA World Factbook.
Bangladesh Burkina Faso *
Cote d'Ivoire *
United Arab Emirates
I was not going to respond about the major characteristics because I am so tired but, considering the completely biased, bigoted and false response from Words for Birds, I'm gonna have to :
Muslims believe in One, Unique, Incomparable God; in the Angels created by Him; in the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgement and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over human destiny and in life after death. Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel.

I go with D! but if bird was right no human would be a Muslim as long as Islam been around and still is? you might know that through the dark ages the Muslim scientists were the ones carrying science like math, astronomy,... and translating history and other important books. So they never lived in a box after all, if you know what I mean?

It's easier to show the major characteristics of Islam by comparing it to something else. So, here are some important differences between Islam and Christianity.
-The Quran is the work of only one man, who, according to historical record and his own admission, was a cunning schemer, robber, murderer, extortionist and woman-hater who lusted after little children.
-The Bible was written by a succession of divinely inspired wise men who, as history shows, were quite sane.
-Over the centuries, Muslims have brutally silenced anyone who criticized Muhammad and his Quran.
- Over an even longer span of centuries, the Bible has withstood the critical scrutiny and authentication of the foremost historians, philosophers and theologians in the world.
-Islam feeds on ignorance, fear, bloodshed, and subjugation; it can't thrive in a free, educated society.
-Christianity is fulfilled by love and service to others; it can't be spread by killing and terror.
-Local clerics, and the Quran, command Muslims to oppress and torture, kill and maim.
-The Bible commands Christians to love their neighbors as they do themselves.
-The Quran advises Muslims to lie and deceive others to get their way.
-The Bible teaches Christians to walk in truth before God.
-Muslims sing and dance when thousands of innocent non-Muslims are horribly murdered.
-Christians readily help and pray for disaster victims and needy people of any faith, all over the world.
-Islamic salvation depends on a formal five-item checklist of duties, with extra points awarded for killing unbelievers.
-Christian salvation depends on a living, growing relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
-People come to Islam because they fear they'll be beaten, robbed, and killed if they don't.
-People come to Christ because He calls to them with His pure, perfect love.
-Muhammad is dead.
-Jesus died for us, yet He lives again, forever.
-Islam condemns sinners.
-Christianity redeems them.
