On WHAT DAY in 1969 did Canada become bilingual?

Uh, it wasn't until 1982 that Canada officially became bilingual.

I could be wrong, but I'm just a typical Anglo-Canadian. yeah I can read the french on the back of my box of Captain Crunch but thats about it...

Source(s): EDIT: ok there was an official languages act in 1969, but it wasn't until the 1988 amendment that it really had any relevance in this country. sorry, I can't go into more detail...
