Based on our study, we draw several implications for marketing managers.

But the most important task is to get into the "sweet spot"of a potential buyer's mindset with a "big idea" or a "unique selling proposition."

Ries and Trout point out that the leading brand in any product category is almost always the first brand entering the potential buyer's mind, while it is not necessarily the first one on the market.

According to them, a "bold stroke" that creates an "overnight sensation" is the best way to "blast your way into . . .[the potential buyer's] mind.

" The purpose is to create the sensitive initial condition or the tipping point that has a potentially disproportionate influence later, as suggested in chaos theory.
