    I'm neutral.

IE is on its seventh version while Firefox is still on version 2.5 or so. My dad says that Firefox is a bug, and IE works just fine. He's a computer technician.

IE is actually on the same level as Firefox and maybe higher. Its controls are harder to work and figure out, but it has more security stuff hanging around.

Ex. Some sites were blocked (not any inappropriate ones, mind you <.<;;) by my dad by going to Tools --> Internet Options and such. I tried reversing it, but I couldn't, since I needed a password.

Firefox, on the other hand, can't block any sites.

Firefox is fast, reliable, and its controls are easier to work out than on IE, but on the family computer, it caused some problems when I tried working on Microsoft Word and using Firefox at the same time. Dad tried working on Word and IE at the same time and it worked.

I suggest you try both Intenet browsers and see which one fits you. The descriptions I gave above are just little summaries to what you can find out and discover on your own. :)

P.S. I also suggest trying Opera. I haven't tried it yet, but I hear that the reviews are generally very positive.

I ♥ Mozilla Firefox! I'd never use anything else. It rarely freezes (and I mean RARELY!) and when it does you can just start back where you were. It also blocks pop-ups like nobody's business and it's extremely easy to clear your history if you ever need to. I'm not exactly a computer genus or anything but I absolutely think that Firefox is far better than Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer uses Active X, here is what Microsoft says about it:

"An ActiveX control can be an extremely insecure way to provide a feature...From the moment a user downloads an ActiveX control, the control may be vulnerable to attack"

(Neither Firefox nor Opera have Active X)

    United States Computer Emergency Team:

"There are a number of significant vulnerabilities in technologies related to the IE domain/zone...ActiveX (etc)...It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser"

It depends on your criteria of "better". Firefox conforms to the standards for rendering HTML closer than IE does. IE also has some quirks in it and it also has "special features". For websites that use some of these special features you have to use IE.

You will find people typically fall into one camp or the other (IE or Firefox) on these browsers. As I work in internet development I have to work with both.

yes firefox is compatible with the java and it is the java compatible web browser. but internet explorer is not compatible with java.

so internet explorer is not suitable for chatting powered with java.

so mozilla firefox is better than Internet exploer 7.0
