Acura Type R Integra only had a 5 speed manual transmission as standard. The Type-R also came with exterior side skirts, a front lip, and a functional rear spoiler known as the "OEM optional kit" (spoiler not included). The interior has red stitching on the arm rest and shift knob, and faux carbon fiber for cup holders, climate control, window switches' backings, and the shifter plate.
Acura GSR: This particular iteration is equipped with lively engine cranked to 170 horsepower plus a sport-tuned double wishbone suspension system and speed-rated 15-inch tires, caps the series of five coupe editions

Steve has it wrong, the reason why honda stopped producing the b18c7 engine was because it was too heavy when it came to making the type r have complete balance. the b18c5 was much lighter and easier to tune therefore giving the R its ultimo balance that every type r owner treasures.
In shorter terms basically the Type R is better if by keeping these vehicles stock but the GS-R is a lot more of a bargain since buying a type r now-a-days is about $12000-15000 depending on what they did while the gsr is about $5000-8000 depending on what they did. base model gsr stock is around 4000-5000 and you could easily buy a v2 intake and a exhaust for about 1000-1200 USD and easily jump the ITR numbers.

robb is wrong.....the b18c5 is only the usdm modle of the type r......which is garbage...but still a type r only the b18c was the jdm version....and the b18c7 is the most powerful type r motor avalible

95-99 B18C Integra SiR-G JDM
96-00 B18C Integra Type R JDM
94-01 B18C1 Integra GS-R USDM
96-97 B18C3 Integra Type R Taiwan/Hong Kong
96 B18C3 Civic VTi 1.8
97+ B18C4 Civic 1.8 Vti EDM
97;98;00-01 B18C5 Integra Type R USDM
96+ B18C6 Integra Type R EDM
96+ B18C7 Integra Type R Australia
now the differances are simple.....the gsr has normal internals and dual runner intake manifold.
the type r has specialty coated pistion, coated with an anti friction material. as well as higher compression ratio, larger cams and tuned for maximum performance.Source(s): 95 civic hatch, h22a swap, lsd tranny, rev-hard custom fabbed turbo kit, tuned...........too much power for such an itty bitty car

the gsr has a b18c1. type R has a b18c5.
they have different lug patterns and interior.
type R has an lsd trans with shorter gears.
and the type R is way more expensive.
edit.. im not wrong.. im in the US. the only place that matters.

GS-R is the highest "normal" trim level.
Type-R is a limited edition that's BETTER than GSR.
You can figure that easily enough by reading the wikipedia entry.

No. The Type R has at least 20more HP. And has different wheels and slightly different bodykit.
