When should you use MS Access?

I have Access available on my computer but have never really run into a situation where I thought I needed it. I am planning to set up a "database" of potential clients with contact information, notes, referred by info, etc. My instinct leads me to just use Excel which I am completely comfortable with,... show more I have Access available on my computer but have never really run into a situation where I thought I needed it. I am planning to set up a "database" of potential clients with contact information, notes, referred by info, etc. My instinct leads me to just use Excel which I am completely comfortable with, but I also have this so-called database program on my computer. I am likely the only one who will ever use the spreadsheet or enter information. Is there really any benefit to using Access for a task such as this, and, if not, when the heck is a good situation to use it?
