It depends on who the manufacturer is but the general order is starting with the Ace of Spades on the face of the deck

    Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King of Spades,

    Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King of Diamonds,

    King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace of Clubs, then

King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace of Hearts. Sometimes a Joker is on both the top and bottom or sometimes both Jokers are on the top of the deck.

Most U.S. makers now go with the order stated by Houdini. This is the case with all my U.S.P.C.C. and U.S.-made Cartamundi "Ace" decks. I have a foreign-made Cartamundi set whose cards are in a different order: all A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2, spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs, jokers last.

out of the box facing you (spades, diamonds, clubs, hearts).

dealer in poker then swaps the red cards (diamonds and clubs) for the spread.

Spread from left to right (diamonds, clubs, hearts, spades). Think Washington DC--diamonds, clubs

rank of suit from lowest to highest is alphabetical (clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades)

2 of clubs lowest (bring in for stud) and ace of spaces highest (high card)

In poker, if the deck is for table games, it will be a-k, a-k, k-a, k-a. If poker, they should be k-a, k-a, k-a, k-a (if not, then the dealer redoes the order for the 2 suits that are opposite)
