Both Mexico and Central America are considered part of North America, however, for regional and economic reasons, Mexico is set apart form the seven nations that form Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama). So to answer your question, it is part of North America.
