What have you done for charity lately?

given $, clothes, volunteered your time, done a marathon?

Did you know someone (family, friend, etc.) who benefited from it?

I donated some money to a children's hospital. I try to do that whenever I can. No, I do not know any children being treated there.

Update:

I almost forgot about giving blood...that counts too.

I know people with leukemia so I am running a marathon!

Seriously, several charities sponsor walks, runs, bike rides, swims, etc. to raise money for their cause. In my case, I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program. They train you to do endurance events like marathons, triathlons, and century (100 mile) bike rides, and in exchange, you do fund raising. You have to hit a goal for each type of event, like, with my marathon, it's $2000.

It's so fun, I'm planning to do a Cancer Fund walk in June, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer walk/run later on.

If you have a favorite cause, I'll bet there's a program to teach non-athletes how to do a sports event to raise money for it.
