Thats about €800, something like $1200 at the moment but by the time you get around to buying the components they will all be at least 10% cheaper, probably cheaper in the US anyway compared to hardware bought in the EU.
You will need good graphics for a gaming machine but you don't need to go crazy on the CPU.
That AMD X2 is about $100 and even Crysis will run with around 60% load on both cores.
That motherboard is AM2+ and AM3 ready so if you need a better CPU you can easily upgrade it, and it supports CrossfireX so you can add a 2nd card if you need the extra performance.
I would never really spend more than this on my machnes and I've always been able to play the newest games, you just have to get the right components, and never buy one pre-built or you will end up with inferiour PSU, RAM or Mobo.
