Questions pertaining to the Florida Sun Shine Law.?

I have a few questions pertaining to the Florida Sun Shine Law.

Is it legal for a city council to go on a retreat to discuss business without opening it to the public.

The subject matter being discussed was redistricting our city and adding more council members and voting districts.

Is it legal for this retreat to be pay for by tax payers money.

Thanks.....

This is a clear violation of the Sunshine Law. Since it is illegal, it may not have been lawful to pay for the retreat, which otherwise might have been proper. You should contact the Florida Attorney General's office.

It is illegal. Politicians have done that and been found to be violating the law. your local newspaper and television channels should be reporting on this and it needs to be brought to the attention of Bill McCollum, the state Attorney General who can put a stop to it.
