How about in Nehemiah when his enemies tried to sabotage the re-building of the wall - Sanballat, the enemy leader, was furious, very indignant, and mocked the Jews, trying to discourage them from their work. One funny thing they said to Nehemiah was 'Whatever you build, if even a fox goes up against it, he will break down their stone wall.' This story is related in the 4th chapter, it is very funny reading. The 13th chapter has Nehemiah contending with some of his people who were in sin, and as he contended with them, cursed them, struck some of them, pulled hair.......it is rather funny how this man of God disciplined his people. The Bible shows all the humanness of God's people, whether they are parishoners or leaders.........sometimes doing funny or strange things. Just like us today.
