Exercise One : Ownership Entities

The business entity that a real estate investor chooses can have a great impact on the return that he or she experiences, and the differences between the returns to different ownership entities are primarily in the form of taxes paid. Individual ownership of commercial and investment real estate is the form most often encountered in the real estate market, and includes the entities of sole proprietorship (ownership by a single person), joint tenancy (ownership held by more than one person), and tenants in common (ownership by a married couple). Because these forms of ownership all have unlimited liability, many owners incorporate to limit their liability, many individual owners will incorporate. Different types of corporate ownership are discussed in the article, How to Choose the Proper Entity for Your Business. After reading this article, answer the following questions:
