The book, The Amber Spyglass, is the last book in the His Dark Materials triolgy written by Philip Pullman.

Now, within that book, there is a device invented by Dr. Mary Malone called the Amber Spyglass. This device she invented while on another world, using the sap of tree pods. It isn't EXACTLY a spyglass, but it's pretty close to one!! She uses this device to observe the flow of dust within the world and what dust flows in and out of, and how slowly or quickly it flows.

Its the last of the "Dark Materials" triology.

First book released was: Northern Lights (released as The Golden Compass in the U.S. Followed by: The Subtle Knife. And then The Amber spyglass. All books were written by Philip Pullman.

The Amber Spyglass is the sequel to the Golden Compass. It features a different set of characters in the beginning but the golden compass's characters come in about mid-story and it all makes a whole lot more sense. It is a good book and I enjoyed it immensely.

It is the title to the final book in Phillip Pullman's trilogy entitled "His Dark Material" also sometimes called "The Golden Compass" trilogy. It's also an artifact.

In the book, it is a device that a character named Dr. Mary builds to see "dust." The lens is made from a magic resin that gives its' views an amber hue.

If Phillip Pullman writes books that end so painfully, with characters Will and Lyra ending in diverse worlds, then i'm sorry to declare that throughout my estimation, he merits no readers. Frankly maximum if no longer each and every physique would want the characters reunited .
