How many drops of water are in the ocean?

well?

Update:

I'm sorry I meant oceans, all the oceans :) I was never good at maths.

Relevance

How many kisses by Elvis Presley? is how much :)

None - water only forms drops when it's broken up by movement through air. Although it's possible to work out how many drops would form from the volume of water in the oceans, there isn't actually enough air on the planet to suspend them all in, so it'd just be a conceptual experiment, really.

Nice q, tho

this is a question that cannot be accurately answered. a simple way to answer this question is 'there are as many drops of water in the ocean as there are single grains of sand in all the beaches of the world OR as many stars there are in the entire universe

This one is relatively simple to work out. Firstly, take a glass ofd water and count the drops in that. Then work out the cubic metrage of the glass of water and divide it into the amount of water in any given ocean. The result is your answer.

"The volume of water in the oceans is enormous: 1.37 billion cubic kilometers (1.37 × 109 km3, or 0.328 × 109 mi.3)"

! drop = Aprox 5ml

1 cubic KM = 1KM x 1KM x 1KM

1 KM = 1000m

Therefore 1 Cubic KM = 1000m x 1000m x1000m or 1,000,000,000 cubic meters

1000L per cubic m. 200 drops per L

200 x 1,000,000,000 x 3,700,000,000

Therefore there is aprox.

74,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 drops of water in the ocean.

Missing a 2, so is 274 x 10 exp 18, so 274 sextillion (billion billon) drops of water in the oceans

there are about 3.612 x 10²º gallons of sea water in the ocean. 46,080 drops per gallon.

a whole bunch.

There is a single drop of water for every single grain of sand on the earth. It deceiving, but a fact.

BTW: TODAY IS COMMANDO FRIDAY!!!

no one would ever know, b/c evaporation and rain take away and put back so much , that you could be off my a couple trillion drops from one minute to the next
