What are the differences between an an arachnid and a crustacean? what is similar? are they often confused?

Crustaceans are not mammals!
I think number of legs come into it too... Arachnids have 8 legs, while Crustaceans have 10 legs.Source(s): I saw it on QI!

arachnids includes crustaceans in its family so
all crustaceans are arachnids but not all arachnids are crustaceans
crustaceans are arachnids with two segments and a very hard outer shell
and no, there are crustaceans that live on land

Far as I know, an arachnid lives on the land (Spiders & such) a crustacean lives in the sea/water.(crabs)
