1- The power circuit is what makes the motor run. The control circuit controls speed, direction, torque, etc, of the motor.
2- Frequent starting/stopping of a motor causes wear on mechanical connections such as belts, gears, etc, and wear on the electrical starting components from inrush current.
3- A limit switch is just that. It limits something. It could limit travel or speed, etc.
4- A start component is usually normally closed. It supplies extra power to start the motor, generally through a starting coil, and opens when the motor gains a certain speed.
