TPS, or Temporary Protected Status is just that, temporary. even though some of these programs go on for quite some time as with El Salvador, but at least in theory, and often in fact, it will end at some point and you will be expected to return. There is no direct route to a green card through that program. So, in order to qualify for a green card, you must qualify in some other way. Depending on your situation, you might be able to apply for political asylum and get more permanent status that way, including a green card. Even if you're turned down, you will retain your TPS status, so there's no real risk in applying, and of course, no guarantee either. Otherwise, if you marry an American or a green card holder, you could eventually get a green card that way, or depending on your citizenship and educational level, you might qualify for the Diversity Visa Lottery Program.

To get a green card you need to Marry an American, or Apply and wait for up to 3-5 yrs.
