There isn't one "best" resource, but you should take a look at the Idealist.org website at http://www.idealist.org - it is a great resource for nonproft jobs domestically and internationally, and it also provides links to other resources that you can use.

Remember also, nonprofits advertise their jobs on monster, hotjobts, the NYTimes, and Craiglist, just like everyone else does, so don't ignore them!

  • There are lots of web sites that post nonprofit jobs, which you can find on Google, and nonprofits jobs are advertised locally in local newspapers. The best way to get jobs with nonprofit groups is the same as getting jobs with for-profit groups: have the exact skills and experience asked for in a job, excellent references, and some kind of connection within the organization. Nonprofits have public events, newsletters about their programs, and volunteering opportunities -- take advantages of these in order to get to know an organization you would like to work for, and for them to get to know you.

I don't know where you are, but in Milwaukee there is a group called the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee. They post job in the nonprofit sector. Hopefully, your community has such a group.
