The youngest country in the world is the Republic of Kosovo, formed in February 2008, making it less than 3 months old (as of today).

The Provisional Institutions of Self-Government, an assembly under UNMIK, declared Kosovo's independence as the Republic of Kosovo. However, its independence is disputed by Serbia, who still claims "ownership" over it, though its independence is recognized by most of the world.

Regarding Uganda, it gained independence from Great Britain in October 9 1960.
