If I am not mistaken, Johnstown is about 200 miles from NYC, which is where JFK airport is located. I don't think it is a good idea for you to travel this way. It is extremely unsafe.
You should take a connecting flight from JFK to Albany, NY first. The bus ride is a lot shorter from Albany to Johnstown. If you are lucky, you may be able to find someone from SUNY-Albany campus who is willing to give you a ride. I would contact their Taiwanese or Chinese Students Associations to make prior arrangements.
