Will a DVI-I female video card work with a LCD monitor with a DVI-D female?

I just got a LCD monitor and decided to upgrade to DVI well i bought a video card that supports it but found out that the video card only has a DVI-I female port and my monitor has a DVI-D female port the video card comes with a male DVI-I to DVI-I cable will this work or will i need to buy extra hardware

    the vga cable is male>-<male so it should work

    DVI-D is digital only, it will not speak anything else. Make sure your, ok so your monitor is DVI-D, meaning it will ONLY work with digital, your vid card has DVI-I, read the docs/manual/specs and see if it supports DVI-D, probably will, but make sure. Physically, connecting should be no problem.... just gata make sure your card will speak a language the monitor understands.

    yes all monitors will have the + shape to accept both DVI-I and DVI-D
