Alternative Wedding Songs?

One of my really good friends is getting married and SOON! I am helping her gets some wedding music together before the big day. She and I have similar tastes and that does not include country songs... I mean, we like country but she wants something a little different- not like the cliqued songs of weddings (you know the ones).

Any couple of answers help!

THANK YOU!

P.S.: I would like to hear of Alternative Rock songs too.. I heart those type of songs.

I went to a wedding where the bride walked in to Sarah McLachlan's "Ice Cream." And at the end, they walked out to Johnny Clegg's "I Know Why The Dog Howls At the Moon." They are both perfect wedding songs. (If you aren't familiar with the Clegg song, you should look up the lyrics. Beautiful. Not really about dogs or howling or moons!) Congratulations!

I am a Wedding Coordinator and I have found that "Yakity Sax" is gaining in huge popularity for the recessional song. It's different, all right, and it really "breaks the ice" of a serious wedding which gets your guests (and wedding party) in the mood to go party at the reception.

Couples alway say it's a real stress reliever, too.

If it's not your cup of joe for the ceremony, try surprising everyone at the rehearsal!
