美國電機研究所選校問題

因為實在對美國的學校了解有限 ,所以想請問一下:

如果要到美國念電機研究所領域為電波或是vlsi領域的話, duke usc 及 wiscconsin madison, 比較會推建那間學校 . 其學術環境及風氣又為何呢? 如果回台就業的話那間會比較好呢? 謝謝

for electromagnetic, Duke has a pretty decent remote sensing program, so you may want to consider. Duke's VLSI is more on the CAD side of things. Wisconsin is also decent in the EM field, actually a lot of schools in the midwest are known for EM (Illinois, Ohio State and Michigan for example). If you want to work on analog/RF, maybe USC, depending on who you get to work with, I don't believe Wisconsin has much of circuit design.

I would recommend making the decision base on 1. which professor you can work with, and 2. how much funding are you getting.

以學術環境和研究風氣來說 , 三間學校應該都不相上下, 三間都是大型研究型大學, 資源非常豐富 不過只有USC 在大城市(LA), Madison 離芝加哥不遠, Duke 就有點小偏僻了

就電機研究所排名來說, USC 13, Wisconsin 14, Duke 35 所以前兩間會比較好

以就業來看,你本身的研究, 經驗, 經歷和人脈等關係比較大吧! USC 的台灣校友超多, LA 的台灣人也多到不行, 對你未來在台灣就業或許較有幫助
