Chickens and T-rex?

Do you think they look alike and are probably related? I do.

They are related. But any living thing is related to every other living thing.

T-rex did not have any decedents who were birds. The t-rex lineage likely died out with no relatives. But they did certainly share a common ancestor a lot more recently than birds would share with any mammal or non-dinosaur reptile.

If you would like a example of a "missing link" (although I hate that term) between dinosaurs and birds, lookup Archaeopteryx or Deinonychus.

They are related. Today, April 24, several papers are carrying a story that T. Rex and modern birds are linked as shown by studies of proteins.

It has long been assumed they are fairly closely related by studying the bones of early birds and dinosaurs.
