    liquid to gas is evaporating - add heat

    gas to liquid is condensing - withdraw heat

    liquid to solid is freezing - withdraw heat

    oxygen gas is a diatomic molecule.

    electrolysis of water changes the water molecules into oxygen gas O2 and hydrogen gas H2. water from liquid state is now in gaseous state of some other compound.

    boiling of water doesnt change the molecule of water. it adds kinetic energy to the water molecule.
