RPM stands for Revolutions per minute and tell you how fast the engine is turning. The speed of any car at any given RPM will vary depending on what the gear ratio is. Some cars may do 60 at 2,000 RPM and others, because of different gearing, may run 70 at 2,000 RPM.

10" x 3.14 (pi) = 31.4" (Circumference of the wheel) .

31.4 x 1000 rpm = 31,400 inches traveled per minute.

31,400 inches per minute divided by 12 = 2616 feet per minute.

5280 feet (one mile) per minute = 60 mph.

So, 2640 ft. per minute would equal 30 mph.

2616 is a little less than that, so the speed would be about 29 mph.
