After cat's respiratory infection, should we disinfect?

Or does he acquire immunity from being ill and recovering?

If disinfecting is advised, how soon? after finish antibiotics? and what needs disinfecting? his dish, bedding? I wouldn't think his potty would hold resp. infection.
