How do you do this on the iPod....?

I plugged in my ipod and it appeared on my desktop on my computer, clicked the picture on my desktop and looked at the files inside. it has 5 folders, one is Calendars, one is Contacts, one is Photos one is Notes, and one is recordings. does that mean i can record? DOES SOMEONE KNOW HOW?

oh, and does anyone know the Apple help phone number thing? i also want to call before i pick best answer because i want to make sure that something is right so i dont ruin my iPod. ;)

    I think the Recordings folder is for when you use a addon microphone that allows you to record your voice and save it on your iPod.

    You are using the ipod as an external drive. Wht you are seeing is the information that is already on your ipod.

    Recordings are the songs/music stored on your device

    there are little add ons that you can buy for your iPod that can actually let you record on it

    but i dont know if thats what the folder is for..

    and i dont know the number, sorry :\

    think this is audio only (voice recordings) but not 100% sure
