What are some diseases that effect cattle?

Besides Mad Cow?

    Here's a website with some good info. about cattle diseases, and their control and management.

    Some of them are Brucellosis, Johne's Disease, Bovine Tuberculosis, and Mastitis. There are more on this page.

    The disease that affect cattle can be grouped according to their causative agents as:

    1- Bacterial diseases.

    - Anthrax.

    - Blackquarter.

    - Haemorrhagic septicaemia.

    - Tubercullosis.

    2- Viral diseases:

    - Rinderpest.

    - Foot and mouth (FMD).

    - Rift vally fever.

    -Lumpy skin disease.

    3- Parasitic diseases;

    - Liver flukes.

    - Bladder worm of ( taenia saginata).

    - Trypanosomiasis.

    - Tickborne diseases. ( Babesiosis, Theileriosis, Anaplasmosis...)

    Blood and Radostits, Textbook of Veterinary Medicine, which admittedly does cover cattle, sheep, goats, horses and pigs, has 1500 pages of closely typed, tissue paper thin pages. Where would you like to start, lol.
