Which is the difference between a crow and a raven?

Both of them are similar and black but I do not know if there is something different between them.

The largest member of the Corvidae family is the Raven. These Corvids are commonly referred to as Crows. Though closely related members of the crow family, Ravens and Crows are different birds. Ravens (Corvus Corax) are 24 inches or as big as a Red-tailed Hawk. Crows are smaller. Ravens soar more than Crows and will somersault in flight. Crows don't perform this meneuver. Ravens are also longer necked in flight. Raven wings are shaped differently than crow wings. They have longer primaries ("fingers") and more slotting between them. A Raven has a wedge-shaped tail, if you are close enough to see it. The bill on a Raven is larger and shaped different than a Crows. Ravens also have shaggy throats. The American Crow makes the well known "caw-caw" sound, along with rattles, clicks and even bell-like notes. The most familiar call of a raven is a deep, reverberating croaking or "gronk-gronk." Ravens also make a huge variety of different notes. Some other members of the genus Corvus include Jackdaws and Rooks. Jackdaws are only the size of pigeons. There are some large crows but in flight it is hard to tell what member of the Corvidae family you are seeing. Go to the website below to learn more.

Ravens are not seen in flocks.

Ravens look ruffled at the throat when they are sitting.

Ravens have wedge-shaped tails in flight: Crow's tails tend to be shorter and rather rounded.

    A Raven's bill is thicker than a Crow's bill.

Ravens are bigger than Crows, although the sizes of a large Crow and a small Raven would be comparable.
