No, American manufacturers have dropped the ball. Let's take cars for example. I would never buy an American car bc they are crap. The only reason that they are not doing well and have closed many locations is bc their product is not as good as you could get overseas, they need to improve their product. No, products dont need to be made in the U.S. They are best made where labour is plentiful (china, japan, etc...) bc that will keep the cost the lowest for American buyers.
*** Instead of supporting products being made in the USA the candidates should support a tax on products coming into the USA. This would free up billions of dollars to better train our workforce for other jobs or to put people to work rebuilding America's infrastructure (bridges, roads, etc...). And it would give preferance to products made in the USA bc they would not have to pay the tax.
