Wow, first of all that nurse (trainee) is completely inappropriate. If you don't feel comfortable with her talk to the office manager. Also, only a certified nurse or ultrasound technician should be performing the ultrasounds.
Next, it is possible for the follicles to shrink and be reabsorbed. If the follicles are not getting the proper stimulation then they will not continue to grow and will either turn into cysts or disappear.
What dose of stims are you on? It sounds like you need a higher dose and maybe to try a different med. If this was your first cycle using injectable stims then it may take a cycle or two to get the correct dosage. Typically one should be on stims for 10-16 days until maturity is reached.
For example, with most of my cycles I was on 250 units of Follistim for usually 4-5 days and then decreased to 150 units for the remaining days and I usually reached maturity on average cycle day 12.
Also the ultraousnd should be reviewed by the Dr. and then you should recieve a call regarding those results and what the next step is. That is how y clinic works. Every time I go in for an ultrasound and bloodwork I recieve a follow up call later in the day with the resuls and about any changes in meds and to schedule the next visit.
Also, are you having your blood drawn to check estradiol (E2) level? That should be done as well.
If you aren't happy with the treatment and service you are getting talk to your Dr. Best to you!
