Well, in my opinion, push-ups isn't the best thing to do if you want to bench press a large weight. I go to a local gym and work out with certified trainers. If you want to lift your own weight, start working out your chest muscles and shoulder muscles. Push-ups are great as an exercise during your workout, but they don't really break down your muscles in order for them to grow back stronger and thicker. Get a set of dumbbells, barbells, and weights and start doing regular work outs. If you really wanna get committed to working out then you can join a gym if you have the money. Also, get a good protein shake because they can rapidly speed up the muscle repair process and can even get you to gain more muscle which will equal more muscle.
