Would someone care to tell me what the word "Peesh" means?

Call me naive, but I don't believe I have ever heard that word until today. What is the origin? Is it Latin?

Poll: yellow or blue?

    peesh = smeckle

    okay i gotta learn ya people:

    in Sicilian we say pisholini (hence peesh)

    smeckle is the Yiddish version

    referring to the male member

      I lived in Sicily for 5 years and I learned that pisciolini ("pisholini")are small fish. Personally, I believe that "peesh" comes from a shortened form of capisce (pronounced kapeeshay) which means understand.

    I think it's short for "Kapeesh" like Uncle Jesse used to say on Full House. That must mean it's Greek.

      Those come from "capisce" and "capisci" respectively. Both mean "understand" in Italian with the first being the formal form (used when talking to a respected person ie. an official or unrelated elderly person, etc.) and the second being the familiar form (used when talking to family or friends).

    Peesh is short for peeshadil, which it's Italian for vagina.

    • Stan2 years agoReport

      It must be a northern Italian slang term then. The Italian word for vagina is spelled the same as English. It is pronounced slightly differently, though, with the "i" pronounced like "ee".

    It's how toothless people say "peace."
