what does the phrase 'au contraire mon frere' mean?

like I know it means something like "contrary to what you just said, big time" but i don't know exactly. I don't really know how or when to use it. Define it and use it in a sentence or something.

Mon frère [with a grave accent] literally means 'my brother', but is often used to mean 'my friend'. In this case, I think the phrase is used mainly by English speakers who like the almost-rhyming of the two words.
